Good Client Relations - We are still working for two of four original clients. (The others were acquired by larger utilities). Currently, repeat business accounts for approximately 85% of our work. One of the original clients has entered into contracts with our firm 56 times since 1948. We listen to our clients when they explain project objectives and goals to obtain a thorough understanding of the project. We work effectively with our clients in developing more specific scope and design objectives for complicated projects. On a recent $10 million power plant modernization project, we developed a design that differed from the original plan that produced the same objectives without sacrificing efficiency or reliablity. This resulted in a $3 million savings.
Experience in Complicated and Difficult Design - We have extensive design experience in power plants, boiler plants, cogeneration systems, steam heating plants, chilled water plants, industrial plants, electronic apparatus, major refit and demolition.
Professional,Capable Personnel - Our personnel are capable of reviewing the need, outlining the problem, professionally describing a practical and feasible solution, conceptually defining the project, preparing reports as required, preparing plans and specifications to construct the project, reviewing the construction in the field as it proceeds to completion and assisting in the start up of the plant addition.
Ability to Control Project Costs and Schedules - Our record of accuracy in estimating and maintaining construction costs and schedules is shown by the fact that our projects have been completed on schedule and at or under budget. Our projects have been within 5% +/- of the estimated cost (still within budget/contingency). Completeness of design has kept change order dollars to less then 3% on the last 5 major power plant projects whose construction cost was approximately $430 million.
Communication with the Client - We maintain excellent communication throughout the duration of our projects.
